Chance for Change is a project aimed at raising awareness of gambling harms amongst minority ethnic communities in collaboration with Ara Recovery For All.

Race Equality First provides support, advice, leadership and an influential voice to people who face discrimination, harassment, hate crime and disadvantage; working in partnership with Welsh & UK Governments.

Ara Recovery For All are the National Gambling Support Network provider for Wales, providing free help and support to anyone impacted by gambling including loved ones.

Did you know? 

  • 50% of young people aged 11-16 report that they have gambled in the last year.
  • 48% of adults gambled in the last month and 60% in the last 12 months. Gambling Commission (2024). 
  • Approximately 6 - 10 people are adversely impacted by another individual's gambling.  Estimates suggest that there are 4.3 Million 'affected others' in the UK
  • Harmful gambling increases the risk of suicide by up to 15 times. Karlsson and Hakansson (2018
