Climate Justice Cymru

There are 12 distributors of money raised by the players of The National Lottery, which fund projects and activities that transform communities, protect our heritage, and enrich lives through arts, sports and culture.

Green Squirrel is a Wales-based social enterprise that helps people take practical action on climate change through community engagement, education and sustainability initiatives. As a partner in Climate Justice Cymru, Green Squirrel leads activities including community gardening, food growing, food preservation and environmental workshops, empowering communities with the knowledge and skills to live more sustainably. 

South & West Wales Wildlife Trust works to protect wildlife and inspire people to connect with nature across South and West Wales. Through Climate Justice Cymru, they support community engagement, nature-based activities and biodiversity initiatives, helping more people experience the wellbeing benefits of nature while taking positive action for the environment. 

Gwent Wildlife Trust protects wildlife and wild places across Gwent while encouraging communities to value and care for their local environment. As a Climate Justice Cymru partner, they support activities that promote biodiversity, nature recovery and community participation, helping create healthier and more sustainable places to live. 

North Wales Wildlife Trust is dedicated to protecting wildlife and inspiring people to enjoy and care for nature across North Wales. Through Climate Justice Cymru, they help connect communities with the natural environment, supporting activities that encourage conservation, biodiversity and climate action across the region. 

Repair Café Wales supports local communities to repair everyday household items instead of throwing them away, helping to reduce waste, save money and promote a circular economy. Through Climate Justice Cymru, they deliver practical workshops that encourage repair, reuse and sustainable living while bringing communities together to share skills and knowledge.

Cardiff University is one of the UK's leading research universities, bringing expertise in climate research, community engagement and evidence-based practice. Through Climate Justice Cymru, the University supports research, evaluation and knowledge sharing, helping ensure the project is informed by robust evidence and contributes to climate policy and practice across Wales.
